The Italian Embassy in Washington hosted the official presentation of the “5 Colors Festival ,” a day dedicated entirely to promoting well-being through education, nutrition, sports, and culture. The event was divided into two distinct segments: the morning reserved for schools and the afternoon dedicated to a roundtable discussion with industry experts.
In the morning: schools take center stage with workshops and educational activities
From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. , the Embassy welcomed primary school students for a morning of play and learning. Through interactive workshops, the children discovered the value of the “five colors of well-being” and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
Among the proposed activities:
- Let’s Color – a creative workshop on the colors of well-being
- Mystery Box – sensory games to discover food
- Healthy Plate – to learn how to build a balanced plate
- Football and Athletics – Sport as an Educational Tool
Following, the lunch break , with a menu inspired by the five colors of health.
An afternoon of entertainment and discussion: a roundtable discussion on the “5 Colori” project.
In the afternoon, starting at 5:00 PM, the Embassy opened its doors to the public for the second part of the event, which combined culture, reflection, and discussion.
The opening was entrusted to a dance performance by Fini Dance New York , directed by Antonio Fini, followed by a video message from the Italian Ambassador to the United States, HE Marco Peronaci , who underlined the importance of prevention and nutritional education as pillars of a healthier society.
Roundtable – “Conversations to Nourish the Mind”
From 5.30pm to 6.30pm the round table presentation of the “5 COLORI” project was held , moderated by Raffaella Cappello , with contributions from:

- Marco Silano – National Institute of Health (ISS)
- Mico Licastro – CONI USA Delegate
- Amy Riolo – Chef, Author, and Mediterranean Diet Ambassador
The discussion focused on nutrition education and prevention , with a focus on how choosing healthy foods can be a true ally for good health. The roundtable offered useful insights and reflections for promoting a balanced and sustainable lifestyle.

The day concluded at 6:30 PM with a final aperitif, an opportunity to continue the conversation and create new connections between institutions, experts, families, and wellness enthusiasts.
